Guatemala, Finca La Bendicion
Tropical Fruit, Milk Chocolate, Sweet & Creamy
Our ROB'S TINY BEACH TOWEL roast — named in honor of TinySeed co-founder Rob Walling — is a unique micro-lot Guatemalan coffee that comes from Finca La Bendicion, via Truth Trading Company.
ABOUT THE COFFEE
85 years ago Vicente Gomez and his wife Maria Reyes purchased a plot of land in the village of Sanguayaba, Palencia. This 42-hectare property produces both washed and natural processed coffees. We offer their washed coffee, because of its crisp, clean flavor.
Many years later Vicente and Maria’s son Jose Gomez inherited the farm and began planting potatoes and corn. Dairy cattle were also raised on the land, but it was short-lived as many of the animals fell to their death on the steep hills.
In 1997 Jose Gomez rebranded the land and began growing coffee. He called it Finca La Bendicion. Today he works with his son Jose and they are experimenting with new varieties, in addition to building their own wet mill with African Beds for drying.
This is a washed whole bean coffee.
